The Project Brief

Women in Banking and Finance: developing a theory of change and governance review

PROCESS:

Governance Review

Theory of Change

Women in Banking and Finance (WiBF) is a volunteer-led members organisation promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the financial services sector. WiBF has upheld women in financial services for over 40 years with branches in London, Belfast, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Glasgow, Norwich and Manchester. Now and looking ahead, the organisation is focusing on how to adapt its goals as a truly purpose-led social enterprise.

WiBF sought out our team of consultants to support them to develop a theory of change that captures and articulates their social purpose, uniting and galvanising all the organisation’s members and stakeholders behind a clarified objective and reassessed approach. With a robust theory of change in hand, CSC will carry out a governance review to support the organisation’s rapid growth, assisting key colleagues to review organisational strengths and establish clarity on their roles.

Our Approach

We’ve promised WiBF an approach that is: strength-led (leveraging all the benefits of our two organisation’s opposing strengths and knowledge areas); collaborative and supportive (relational and non-transactional); as well asco-productive and independent (we’ll be supporting and facilitating all stakeholders to contribute to and take ownership of the theory of change and governance review process, whilst at the same providing an independent voice and expert advice).

Impact

The key outputs will be a designed theory of change and a short organisational strengths review report, including consultant observations and recommended suggestions to improve governance and increase organisational impact.
