ENORB partners with Civil Society Consulting to deliver new European Feminist Book Club

The European Network on Religion and Belief (ENORB) is a membership-based organisation that works in partnership with faith, belief and anti-racist based civil society organisations to combat racial and religious discrimination, hate crimes, and community harms. The network aims to build mutual understanding and harmony in the field of religion and belief by promoting stronger, safer, and more resilient community responses.

Civil Society Consulting has collaborated with ENORB on an interfaith dialogue series Together for Reflection & Connection, since one of our founders, Mark Ereira-Guyer, was appointed as ENORB’s interim Director in January 2022.  These online events invite prominent speakers to discuss key issues concerning faith and belief communities in Europe and beyond.

In the most recent session, prominent feminist authors Rafia Zakaria and Laurie Penny discussed the connected "crisis" of masculinity and democracy. The event was co-facilitated and hosted by CSC's Project Support Officer Rebecca Pauley and ENORB intern Martina, who are both gender specialists by training.

Inspired by the event’s engagement and conversation, ENORB has decided to partner with CSC on a new book club series titled “We Should All Be Feminist.” Through conversations, increased connections, and proactive engagement, this project aims to combat discrimination and promote anti-racist narratives.

Drawing on our expertise in communications, specialisms in gender theory (MSc), and extensive experience hosting online events, CSC supportED the facilitation and delivery of the book club. One of our team members, Rebecca Pauley, will be outsourced to ENORB to lead the research, identify different feminist authors, leverage our networks for promotion, and co-host the bimonthly event. We are excited to see how this project will enhance the work we do in supporting and strengthening civil society, minority-led, and faith-based organisations.
